Home-made Granola Bars from Wendy
Ingredients:
- 1c. unrefined brown sugar
- 2/3 cup natural peanut butter
- 1/2cup brown rice syrup or honey
- 1/2cup melted butter
- 2tsp vanilla
- 3cups uncooked oatmeal
- 1/2cup coconut
- 1/2cup sunflower seeds
- 1/2 cup raisons or craisons
- 1/3cup wheat germ
- 1cup chocolate chips or carob chips
Steps:
Mix all. Pack into cookie sheet bake for 15-20mins edges should brown – then voila an easy healthy homemade snack
Now these are tasty little morsels and what I like to call not only nutrient dense but calorie dense so be aware of your serving size! Snacks play a vital role in a busy life and we are all busy, so I like to have a batch of these on hand if I find myself craving a snack vs opting for a packaged cookie full of trans fats and artificial sweetners.
